476 Westley Richards (NE)

The 476 Westley Richards was a proprietary cartridge for the WR line of Double rifles. It was introduced @ the turn Of the 20th century. It was more Popular In India rather than Africa. Correct bullet Diameter is reported to be .476 and weight of appox 500 gn.

This cartridge was never popular in The United State . At this time it is a Semi Obsolete Cartridge but Westley Richards still lists the rifle only on special order . Handloading jacketed bullets are still made by Woodley . The ballistics are very similar to the 458 Winchester Magnum
