400 (40) Newton

The 400 Newton or sometimes called the 40 Newton was the largest caliber listed in the Newton catalog. This Is another Newton caliber that no factory rifles have been found.

Both AO Niedner and Vernon Gibson have chambered for the cartridge . and did list rifles for sale. The cartridge was loaded with a 300 Gn. bullet with a .412 diameter. Griffin & How Of New York also chambered for this round
