44-90 Peabody “What Cheer”

The 44-90 Peabody was one of The many “ What Cheer” cartridges. During That era, Rifle and Loading Company’s produced fixed ammunition in various Loadings. This case is also known as the 44/95 Peabody and the 44- 100 Peabody. This was one of the largest cartridges chambered by the Providence Tool Company. This was the original caliber manufactured for the Peabody Martini long range rifle. This cartridge was introduced in 1877 . Original cartridges in this caliber are purely Collectors items.
