This case was introduced In 1869- 1870 for The Model 1870 Trapdoor Springfield Carbine.This case is basically an altered 50/70 Government case with some modifications . This cartridge was also used as the Cadet round. The 50-45 was also used in many Remington Rolling Block carbines as well as other post Civil Wars conversions. Also Known as the 50-45-400
