40/50 Sharps Straight

Introduced by the Sharps Rifle Co. in 1879.. It was a popular cartridge for the Sharps Rifles and Winchester single shots. Remington also chambered it for there Remington Rolling Blocks. At that time this was a black powder cartridge but is still popular today with a lot of Single Shot shooters. this is also known as the 40-1.7/8.
