44 Evans Old Model (Short)

The Evans rifle was introduced in 1875 as a military rifle. The rifle was rejected by the military but was later marketed for civilian use. The Evans was an unusual rifle by design. It was reported that the magazine was capable of holding 34 cartridges in the butt of the stock. It was an early lever action. Rifles and Ammunition were still being sold up until 1940. These rifles are now designated as curio and antiques.
